Horizon 2020 project 'Reconciling Europe with its Citizens through Democracy and Rule of Law' (RECONNECT), from Sylvia Kritzinger and Carolina Plescia, starts in May 1st 2018.

We are happy to announce that the new Horizon 2020 project 'Reconciling Europe with its Citizens through Democracy and Rule of Law' (RECONNECT) can be officially launched on May 1st 2018.

RECONNECT is a multidisciplinary research project, carried out by 18 research institutions and led by the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studiesat KU Leuven.

The work package of the H2020 project lead by the University of Vienna team aims to study citizen perceptions of democracy and the rule of law in the EU and possible scenarios of reform. In particular, we focus on the one hand on the extent to which discourse on the EU at the elite level resonate and proliferate at the citizen level and on the other hand, on what would be the ideal EU in the eyes of citizens. The project relies on survey panel data and conjoint experiments.
